What used to be my longtime Hot Wheels collection before downsizing

I had an enormous collection of Hot Wheels mainline castings that I have collected since the late 70’s/ early 80’s. This collection spanned from the late 60’s to the end of 2006 (with a few 2007/08 cars included). The total cars accumulated into the collection was around the 14 thousand mark. “There were no two cars alike in the collection due to all the variations of any given car/casting”.  I always tried to collect every mainline casting, its “official” variations (no errors) and to keep the series as complete as possible. I have attached some pictures of my former collection, as they were displayed (in all their greatness). There were still alot that was stored in totes, protecto packs, and in display cases etc.. (all protected from harm). All were organized for accuracy, efficiency and viewing pleasure.

The collection consisted of Redlines, Blackwalls, Hot-Ones, Real-Riders, Ultra-Hots, Mattel sponsored Limiteds, Vintage cars, 1995-2006 Series cars (including ALL Treasure Hunts), Store Specific models, Anniversary, International, Promos, RLC, Customs, Convention, Multi-Packs (2, 3, 5 etc packs), Multi-Car sets etc.. along with most of their variation counterparts. I also had many cars for customizing (the only duplicates I had) including Drag Trucks, go karts and TONS of Real Rider and Pro Circuit 5 and 6 spoke wheels, ready to use. Also in the collection was all the “support equipment”: Protecto-Paks, Totes, Fixtures, Display Cases, Hot Wheels literature/Signage etc..

Many, many years of time, money, love and effort went into this collection. A Grand Display of the Greatest Die Cast Cars Ever. Representing the 4 decades of Hot Wheels collecting. Most of the cars have been sold off either online or locally to fellow MA/RI collectors to fill their personal collections. The bulk of the cars ended up being sold to my friend, Ben Aiken (from Summerville, SC). This makes his collection of non duplicate, official variation laden Hot Wheels car collection one of the largest around.
